Coptic Orthodox Church / Bishopric of Public, Ecumenical & Social Services (COC/BLESS)
BLESS Development Department (DD) mission is: to help the poor and marginalized people to discover & develop their potentials and improve the conditions of their communities: socially, culturally & economically for an abundant life for all”.
- BLESS is focusing on the human being irrespective of race, age, sex or religion.
- BLESS DD selects poor and marginalized communities according to certain criteria across Egypt where it implements Comprehensive Integrated Development Programmes (community based development).
- Sustainability is an important BLESS strategy therefore it works with the target communities for a certain number of years until they become self-reliant and then gradually exits.
- BLESS DD replaces the communities it exited from by an equal number so that at any given time BLESS will be working with thirty communities.
BLESS DD runs seven programmes:
- Community Organization Progamme.
- Health & Environment Programme.
- Economic Programme.
- Rural Development Programme.
- Child Programme.
- Education Programme.
- Youth Programme.
BLESS DD also runs three support centers:
- Coptic Center for Human Resource Development “CHRD”.
- Coptic Center for Social Studies “CCSS”.
- Coptic Center for Pubic Relations “CCPR”.
