EED (Evangelischer Entwicklungsdienst)
Church Development Service (Evangelischer Entwicklungsdienst) is an association of the Protestant Churches in Germany. By means of financial contributions, personnel secondment, scholarships and consultancy services, EED supports the development work of churches, Christian and secular organisations in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Oceania, South Eastern Europe and the Caucasus region. In this worldwide partnership, EED is participating in establishing a just society. It takes and promotes action to arouse and enhance people's willingness to stand up to overcome need, poverty, persecution and violence.
In Germany, EED supports 500 groups and organisations promoting education on global development issues. EED lobbies in Germany for a change of policies in favour of sustainable development worldwide. In 2013, EED will merge with Bread for the World, a campaign of the protestant churches and free churches in Germany to bring about justice for the poor.
