Federación Argentina de Iglesias Evangélicas (FAIE)

The Argentine Federation of Protestant Churches (FAIE) is one of the oldest Federations in Latin America, and one of the few that comprises such an broad spectrum of churches, counting among its 23 member churches all the so called "historical protestant churches", many of the XIX century revival churches, and a number of openly ecumenical pentecostal churches. It has a longstanding relationship with the WCC, being a member of the Commission for Mission and Evangelism.

FAIE's mission is to contribute to ecumenism, through the following activities:

* Defence of religious freedom.

* Promotion of ecumenism and inter-religious dialogue.

* Promotion of unity among Christian churches and their mutual enrichment.

* Liaison with government, non-government, and church organisations.

* Supporting churches in their relations with government organisations and NGOs.

* Improvement of the churches communications.

* Supporting and advising churches in their diakonal work, promoting development and public advocacy, strengthening their incidence capacity.

* Coordination of the joint churches reaction in cases of emergencies and disasters, as part of ACT-International.

FAIE works through 6 departments: Ecumenism, Mission, Development and Emergencies, Communications, Publications, and Finance.
