Fundacion de Ayuda Social de las Iglesias Cristianas (Social Aid Foundation of Christian Churches) (FASIC)
FASIC was formed In the context of the military dictatorship with the aim to contribute to the strengthening of democracy on the basis of promotion and defence of human rights.
FASIC runs Development and Human Rights through these programmes:
- Truth and justice: legal, social and psychological assistance
- Prevention of violence and conflict resolution
- Refugees adn asylum seekers
- Memory and archives from the dictatorship time
FASIC is in the Board of the Universidad Academia de Humanismo Cristiano
Legal and psychological assistance is given by FASIC to people whose rights were violated during the dictatorship, victims of torture, families of the disappeared and politically executed, and those who since 1990 have been abused by authorities and discriminated against, as well as refugees and migrants.
