National Christian Council of Sri Lanka (NCCSL)
The National Christian Council of Sri Lanka was founded in 1945 (forerunners: the Christian Council of India, Burma & Ceylon formed in 1923, the Christian Council in Ceylon, 1922, the Ceylon Representative Council of Missions, 1920, and the All Ceylon Conference of 1912).
Basis: To affirm and confess our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour, and to seek together to fulfill the common calling, to the glory of the Triune God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The Council runs many activities in the following areas: Theological Reflection, Ecumenical Relations, Communications, Peace and Reconciliation, Relief and Rehabilitation, Evangelism and Church Renewal, Justice Concerns, Development Concerns, Christian Education, Women, Youth, Family and Life, and Capacity Building.
