Rangpur Dinajpur Rural Service (RDRS)
RDRS Bangladesh started as a field programme of LWF/DWS after the 1971 War of Independence, working with refugees. It's work has expanded over 3 decades and in 1997, it became an autonomous NGO. It remains an Associate Member of the LWF.
RDRS focuses on one geographical area in the Northwest of Bangladesh
RDRS has 4 mainstream programmes:
- Social empowerment
- Community Health
- Livelihoods
- Micro-finance
These are further divided into thematic priorities and sub-priorities.
RDRS is a large organization with a total staff of 2935 regular staff. Its total income is about USD 14 million including microfinance. RDRS works closely with 300 CBOs representing 400,000 rural poor and has a wealth of experience in the area of development, emergency assistance and advocacy.
