ACT Central Asia Forum
ACT Forum Central Asia (Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan)
The ACT Central Asia Forum evolved from the pilot ‘ACT Development Forum’ established in Central Asia in 2007, itself a successor of the ‘Ecumenical Consortium for Central Asia’ (ECCA) since the late 1990’s.
In recent years this consortium has pioneered community-based disaster risk reduction programmes and climate change adaptation.
It has responded to emergencies, including with coordinated support through the ACT appeal mechanism. It has developed strong, community-based development programmes with over 40 local partners working in priority themes of secure livelihoods, access to basic services and fair economic development.
Current members of the Forum are Christian Aid, DanChurchAid and ICCO & Kerk in Actie. New members, with a commitment to any of the Central Asian Republics, are welcome.
