Video on drought and famine response in Kenya
How can people deal with recurrent drought? In Kenya, where worsening droughts caused by climate change have led to chronic shortages of water and food, ACT Alliance is pioneering two projects in the Maasai and Ukambani regions that provide people with sustainable alternatives.
Run by ACT member the Anglican Church of Kenya, through its Department of Social Services, the project has introduced new ways of enabling people to adapt to the harrowing effects of climate change, introducing drought-resistant seeds, high-yielding goat breeds, bee-keeping and new water structures, and training people in how to use them.
