Argentina

Illegal logging is a huge problem in the forests of Chaco in the north of Argentina where tribal people live and rely on forests for food and herbal medicines.  ACT members campaign against the logging.  In one of Buenos Aires largest slums, a project to help poor people collecting, recycle and sell rubbish is run by an ACT member.  Other members provide social programmes for deprived children on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, support human rights workers fighting for families whose loved ones have disappeared, as well as fair trade projects, goat breeding, and teaching of traditional tribal skills.
