With ACT’s help, the Quilombola people and the Tupinamba people of Brazil are able to defend themselves against ranchers who want to take their land, thugs employed by the ranchers and by police. Agriculture and cultivation programmes, support for people who sort rubbish, programmes with street children, and girls’ programmes are among other ACT projects in Brazil.
