Costa Rica

Following the January 2009 earthquake which was strongly felt across the country and killed 23, an estimated 2300 people had to take shelter in temporary accommodation. ACT’s strong local connections resulted in relief work in five communities - through children’s recreational activities, women’s self-help activities, and human rights awareness. Special attention was given to the migrant population.
