Nicaragua

Hurricane Ida hit eastern Nicaragua in November 2009, producing flash floods and landslides. ACT members were able to monitor the situation in each of the territories its members worked. In development work, ACT trains agriculture promoters to teach soil and water conservation, crop diversification and mixed cropping. It also runs credit schemes for people to buy chicken, goats and pigs to rear.
