Three health clinics in Gaza financed by ACT were destroyed during the December 2008-January 2009 attack by Israeli forces on Gaza. As well as killing over 1400 people, the bombings left many people forced to live in the ruins of the city. Blockades by Israel have prevented building materials reaching those in need. ACT members support health care facilities in Gaza, and projects for Palestinians living elsewhere in the occupied territories. ACT also supports vocational training including carpentry classes. The most recent ACT appeal assists the 1.5 million Gazans suffering acute shortages of fuel, food and medical supplies by providing food supplements, medicines, cash for food and cash for work programmes and psychological assistance.
