Peru

ACT’s response to the August 2007 earthquake that hit Peru killing 540 was to provide shelter, house construction, support for post-traumatic stress recovery and to restore irrigation canals. Another community was helped with a water supply system and the installation of an alternative drainage system. Longer-term, several ACT members support women’s groups, farming enterprises, native plant growing, and teach people how to deal with crop failure.
