ACT members support agriculture and food production projects, microcredit and community development, particularly for refugees and people who were displaced by fighting.

ACT members have assisted the return of families that had sought refuge abroad during the 1999 conflict in Kosovo. Services include housing, income generation and vocational training. Projects aim to foster reintegration in areas with high proportions of minority returnees.

The United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo or UNMIK is the interim civilian administration in Kosovo, under the authority of the United Nations. Kosovo is the subject of a long-running political and territorial dispute between the Serbian (and previously, the Yugoslav) government and Kosovo's largely ethnic-Albanian population. Whilst Serbia's claim to Kosovo is recognised by some in the international community, a clear majority of the Kosovo's population support Kosovo's independence, together with a majority of European countries.
