Tanzania

In November 2009, 24 people died following a landslide at a village on high land in Kilimanjaro region after four days of heavy rains.  At a time when the ACT Forum Tanzania was already planning to do disaster preparedness work following the prolonged drought in northern Tanzania, the onset of rain came with disastrous results.  ACT was able to provide support to villages who lost their homes.
